Why We’re Creating Space for the Vendor Community

The Story Behind The Bridal Haven and Our Upcoming Event, The Haven in Bloom

In the wedding and events industry, we spend most of our time creating beautiful experiences for others.

We show up early, stay late, solve problems behind the scenes, and work closely with couples and clients to bring their visions to life. But while vendors collaborate constantly at events, there are surprisingly few opportunities for us to slow down, gather together, and build relationships outside of the busy wedding day.

That realization helped inspire Hillary Isaksen, owner of Company 421 and Hillary Rae Events, to create intentional spaces specifically for the vendor community.

The Heart Behind the Bridal Haven Community

Through years of planning weddings and hosting events, Hillary has had the privilege of working alongside countless talented photographers, florists, DJs, caterers, beauty professionals, and creative entrepreneurs throughout Central Illinois.

One thing became clear:
While the wedding industry is full of incredible collaboration, many vendors rarely have time to connect outside of event days.

The Bridal Haven Community was created to change that.

Founded by Hillary, The Bridal Haven is focused on bringing wedding professionals together in meaningful ways—creating spaces where vendors can share ideas, support one another, and build real referral relationships that strengthen the entire industry.

Rather than traditional networking events that feel transactional or sales-driven, the goal is something much more intentional: community.

Why Community Matters in the Wedding Industry

Behind every successful wedding is a team of professionals working together to create an unforgettable experience.

When vendors know each other, trust each other, and collaborate well, it benefits everyone—especially the couples we serve.

Stronger vendor relationships lead to:

  • Better teamwork on event days

  • More thoughtful referrals between professionals

  • Increased creativity and collaboration

  • A stronger, more supportive local wedding industry

Creating a place for these relationships to grow naturally is at the heart of what The Bridal Haven Community is all about.

Introducing: The Haven in Bloom

The next step in building this community is an upcoming gathering called The Haven in Bloom, a spring vendor social designed to bring wedding professionals together in a relaxed, intentional setting.

Taking place on Friday, May 8 from 4:30–6:30 PM at Company 421, this event will welcome a curated group of local vendors for an evening of connection, conversation, and collaboration.

Unlike traditional networking events, this gathering is intentionally designed to feel comfortable and relationship-focused.

Attendees can expect:

  • Light appetizers

  • A short welcome and guided connection moment

  • Open networking with fellow vendors

  • A welcoming, relaxed environment for meaningful conversation

To maintain the intimate feel of the event, attendance is limited to 40 vendors.

A Growing Community

The Haven in Bloom is just one step in the broader vision behind The Bridal Haven Community.

Hillary’s goal is to continue creating thoughtful opportunities where wedding professionals can gather, learn from one another, and build lasting relationships within the industry.

When vendors support each other, collaborate well, and grow together, it strengthens the entire event community—and ultimately creates better experiences for the couples and clients we serve.
